Construction Business &
Financial Consultant
I've Built It. Now I Help You Run It.
I spent 30+ years in construction before I ever called myself a consultant. I’ve owned the businesses, run the jobs, and lived the chaos. Now I help contractors do what most never figure out — build a business that actually works.
One Method. Six Pillars. Real Results.
Most contractors are great at the work — but the business side runs them into the ground.
Chaos in the field, numbers that don’t add up, a team that can’t function without you, and revenue that never
seems to turn into profit. That’s exactly what The Ownership Method™ was built to fix.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Ownership Method™ is a six-pillar framework that addresses the real gaps in your business —
financials, operations, team, sales, leadership, and building real wealth.
Every engagement is customized to focus on what you need most in your business,
in the right order, so it stops depending on you and starts building real value.
Together, we’ll create a business that works for you — not the other way around.
Your business should be your greatest asset — not your toughest challenge.
My Promise to You
I will tell you the truth about your business — even when it’s uncomfortable.
I bring 30 years of real construction experience into every conversation, and I won’t hand you a generic plan that doesn’t fit where you actually are.
We’ll focus on what matters most —in the right order.
And we won’t stop until the numbers make sense and the business runs with structure instead of resting on your shoulders.
No fluff.
No theory.
Just real work that produces real results.
My Core Values
Honesty & Directness
You’ll always know where you stand with me.
I’ll tell you what you need to hear — not what’s comfortable.
No sugarcoating. No runaround. Just clear conversations that lead to better decisions.
Clarity Over Complexity
If you can’t see it clearly, you can’t fix it.
The numbers. The systems. The strategy.
My job is to cut through the noise and make the next move obvious.
Financial Depth
I see what others miss.
I’ve walked into companies where no one raised a red flag — and the owner had no idea how close to the edge they were.
Understanding what the numbers are actually saying is where the real work begins.
No Nonsense
I don’t do fluff. I don’t do filler.
And I don’t give advice that sounds good but doesn’t move anything forward.
Everything we do is built around real, measurable progress.
Real Construction Experience
I’ve owned it. Run it. Built it.
So when we talk about your business, I already understand the jobs, the crews, the estimating, the pressure.
You don’t have to explain construction to me — we can get straight to work.
ABOUT ME
What Sets Me Apart
Hi, I’m Susan Giddings
Financial Consultant, Problem Solver, Strategist, & Coach
A Construction Consultant Who Has Walked In Your Shoes
Everything I do is built around one belief: If the numbers aren’t right, nothing else works.
My background is in accounting and business — I was trained to understand how money moves, how margin is built, and how structure either supports growth or quietly undermines it.
Then I owned construction companies and had to make those numbers work in real life — through growth, payroll, estimating, and the weight of being the one everything depends on.
That combination is what sets me apart.
When I work with contractors now, it isn’t theory. It’s financial depth applied to real construction ownership.
Through The Ownership Method™, I help established contractors install real structure across their financials, operations, and leadership so the business runs with control — not chaos.
Together, we fix what’s underneath. We tighten the math. We build systems that support growth.
Not just more revenue. Real profit. Real clarity.
This is what 30 years of real experience looks like when it’s working beside you.
We Give Back
As a domestic violence survivor, I served on the board of Martha’s House, a small rural domestic violence shelter for many years and have also written and published several articles to raise awareness regarding the signs of domestic violence, why women don’t leave and how to help break the cycle of domestic violence.
As I help my clients find success, I can give the women who come to Martha’s House a fighting chance to achieve their hopes and dreams. So, a portion of my fees earned through consulting and coaching services each year is donated to help Martha’s House provide emergency shelter, support, and resources to those in need.
